hyperhidrosis
Welcome to SweatHelp.org and the International Hyperhidrosis Society. We help people who suffer from excessive sweating. So, whether you have sweaty palms, sweaty feet, excessive sweating in your armpits, or sweat dripping down your face, or even if you sweat profusely all over your body as a result of ETS surgery, you'll find a sympathetic and understanding ear here.

You'll also find reliable information about real treatment options for excessive sweating, tools to find a physician who treats hyperhidrosis, the most complete coverage of what's happening in the world of hyperhidrosis research, and more.

The International Hyperhidrosis Society is the only non-profit, independent, global organization dedicated to the entire excessive sweating community. The International Hyperhidrosis Society increases awareness and understanding of excessive sweating, improves access to hyperhidrosis treatments, provides feedback to the scientific community about excessive sweating, and offers education for medical professionals in order to improve the diagnosis and care of excessive sweating.

Our Hyperhidrosis Medical Education Creates Champions
Our highly regarded medical education seminars concluded in June and a new group of healthcare professionals took their newly acquired expertise and skills out into the world of hyperhidrosis sufferers. The feedback from these teaching events indicates that the attendees are confident in their ability to treat hyperhidrosis patients and inspired to extend their services to more people. This reinforces the value of these sessions and the importance of continuing to include them in the IHHS's program agenda.

Sponsorships and the IHHS: When It's a Perfect Match
As the only non-profit organization devoted to helping the millions of people who live with and treat excessive sweating, the IHHS is ideally situated to bring sufferers and sponsors--whose focus is on excessive sweating treatments--together. Sponsors offer many benefits to the IHHS community, contributing everything from Botox treatments to the cost of printing patient brochures; likewise, our community can be of great value to our sponsors. In what other place would a sponsor-- with interests centered on the hyperhidrosis population--capture the attention of this vastly underserved audience? The IHHS is the only place that this can happen.

2 Paths to Treament, 2 Men Talk About Living with Hyperhidrosis
Every hyperhidrosis sufferer deals with the disease differently, yet universally, they share many of the same restraints and difficulties. Almost all sufferers would characterize their day-to-day lives as severely restrained by logistical, social, professional, and intimate inhibitions as a result of their excessive sweating. They would all say that they have reigned in their ambitions because of their excessive sweating. Here we examine some of the commonalities of living with hyperhidrosis from the perspective of two men who have navigated the course from excessive sweating to finding a treatment. It wasn't easy.

Considering ETS for Excessive Sweating? Proceed with Caution!
With the treatments for hyperhidrosis continuing to evolve and the awareness of it in the medical community continues to grow, it concerns us when we hear patients suffering the adverse effects of endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS). ETS surgery can be an effective and appropriate option for patients with palmar hyperhidrosis, but only when all other treatment options have failed. Because of its inherent risks and irreversible side effects, ETS should only be considered after a great deal of research and professional consultation.

New Pediatric Hyperhidrosis Clinic, First of Its Kind
It's not often we can announce the opening of a new pediatric hyperhidrosis clinic; in fact: this is the first time we've had the honor. In February, 2010, through the great dedication of Samantha Hill, MD, the first-of-its-kind Pediatric Hyperhidrosis Clinic at The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin opened in Milwaukee. We hope this is the first of many clinics that make pediatric hyperhidrosis a focus of treatment. In the meantime, if you're in the Milwaukee neighborhood, check out Dr. Hill's clinic on the first and third Thursday of every month.

Physician Assistants Becoming Integral to Hyperhidrosis Care
The future of healthcare still holds many unknowns within its changing role in the US. One growing trend that seems likely to continue is the increasing number of Physician Assistants (PAs) partnering with doctors in almost every medical specialty, to deliver essential medical care to patients. A dermatology PA working in Virginia exemplifies this growing trend in healthcare. What does that mean for hyperhidrosis patients? It means getting some of the best in skilled hyperhidrosis care.
