Globe & Mail [Canada]: Shopping, for Sweaters
Some holiday advice from the International Hyperhidrosis Society for people who sweat excessively:
* Don't holiday shop during peak hours and avoid crowded, overheated stores; consider shopping on-line. * Layer your clothing for easy removal while shopping. * At parties, steer clear of sweat-inducing spicy foods or caffeinated beverages. * Occasionally, excuse yourself from uncomfortable conversations and stuffy crowds to get some air and de-stress . . . "Excuse me, I have to help clear the table." * Wear clothing made with natural materials (e.g. cotton) rather than synthetic materials (e.g. nylon) as they offer more air circulation around the body and wick moisture away from the body. * Black and white solid colours or patterned fabrics with a black and white background will camouflage underarm sweat marks the best.
